Membership is normally* automatic for permanent employees under age 75 therefore pension contributions will be deducted automatically from day one of your job/post. If you have a contract of less than 3 months and are not classified as an Eligible Job Holder under Automatic Enrolment, you will need to opt into the Scheme if you wish to join. Please check your contract of employment to see if you are eligible for automatic entry.
Upon commencement of employment you should have received the Short Guide to LGPS 2014.
If you do not fall into the automatic entry category and wish to join the LGPS then please complete an Option to Join and Rejoin Main Section Form and a Membership Information Form.
If you join via automatic entry please complete a Membership Information Form.
If you would like to nominate someone to receive a lump sum death grant, or amend your nominees then please complete the Death Grant – Expression of Wish Form.

* If you are employed by a designating body, such as a town or parish council, or by a non-local government organisation which participates in the LGPS (an admission body), you can only join if your employer nominates you for membership of the scheme.
